RITUAL
Ritual
had an exemplary career from the outset and already
belongs to the best procreators of show jumpers in
Germany, according to the FN breeding value rating.
He is homozygotically bay coloured and consequently
does not transmit chestnuts. He amazingly presented
3 Approved sons from his first covering season,
which consisted only of a very small number of
coverings. The number of Approved sons has meanwhile
increased considerably. His progeny are unusually
noble and thrill by their outstanding jumping
ability.
Ritual is a great sire of show horses of all
disciplines. The prize money in competition of his
descendants, like Rainy Day (Alois Pollmann-
Schweckhorst), Ramadan Z (Eduardo Netto de Almeida/POR),
Rubia (Axel Milkau) and Resonanz (Hartwog Rhode) is
more than 362,000 € in 2005. Ritual is sire of 14
Licensed sons, among them Rudelsburg, sire of
Rulanda (ridden by Imke Harms), Champion of the
German Show Jumping Masters in 2005, Rilke,
Westphalian State Stud sire and Rudelsberg, Neustadt/Dosse
State Stud sire etc
The Sire, Ramiro
Z has become world famous and is duly called the
"Euro-stallion" of his day. Preferent Ramiro decends
from the famous male linage combination Rainmond -
Ramzes x - Rittersporn xx. The anglo arabian Ramzez
represents one of the basic blood lines on which
Holsteiner breeding has beeen founded. Ramzes gave a
new dimension to sport horse breeding. Ramiro's dam
is Valine, who aquired international fame as a show
jumper by the name of Corrale under Lutz Gossing.
She is a daughter of the reputable Throughbred
Cottage Son, who became famous through his son
Consul. Ramiro's dam is frm linage 776 one of the
most valueable Holstiener female blood lines going
back to Achill and Edelbert.
In 1969 Ramiro was the absolute top stallion of his
performance year and was not only used for breeding
but was successfully showjumped. He was ridden by
Fritz Ligges and excelled in his puissance
performances, up to 2.2 meters as well as in
competition where speed was essential. Ramiro moved
to the Netherlands, to Studbook Zangersheide in
1979, and was accepted into the KWPN 2 years later,
on the basis of his breeding efforts that had earned
him worldwide fame. He was declared horse of the
year at jumping Amsterdam in 1992.
G. Ramiro Z progeny can be described in one word:
sublime. He supplied a large number of stallions
approved in the Netherlands and abroad as well as an
impressive series of sport horses. In the
Netherlands his sons Almiro, Armstrong, Bernstein,
Dageraad, Damiro, Elmero and Zeoleit were Approved.
His daughter the super mare Ratina Z is the dream of
the show jumping world, winning both Gold and Silver
medals at the Barcelona Olympics and, under her new
rider Ludger Beerbaum, claiming the Volvo World Cup
of 1993.
However his offspring increasingly distinguish
themselves in dressage as well. The Horse Breeding
Testing Station Association has gratefully used the
sperm quality and high fertility of Ramiro Z, which
alllowed this association to play a prominent role
in the development of artificial insemination of
horses in this day and age.
The
Damsire, German-bred Der Lowe, son of German St.
Leger Winner Wahnfried, was a stakes winner who, at
age 7, was installed as a sire at the Hanoverian
stallion station at Grossenworden. During his twenty
year career at stud he produced a great number of
top Hanoverian dressage horses, some international
grand prix jumpers, including Der Lord and Loriot,
and two significant sire sons, Lugano I and Lugano
II.
Der
Löwe is one of the very few Hanoverian stallions
ever licensed for breeding by the Holstein Verband!
The world wide dominance of this unique performance
line 776 is further documented by numerous sires
such as Acorado (State Stud Celle), Calvados I and
II, Cortino I and II, Landos, Ramirado (Holstein),
Captain Incipit, Lord Incipit (Bavaria), Highvalley,
Larenco (NL), Lordanos, Rouletto (Oldenburg) and
many others.
