Lucky Boy was sired by the Holsteiner stallion
Lavall II in his first year standing at stud. Lavall
II, a son of Landgraf I, has been, just like his
brother Lavall I, very successful in German
competition and breeding.
On his dam's side, he has the blood of the stallion
Calypso I (Cor de la Bryere), through the Holsteiner
mare Tramontana. Calypso I has been established as
one of the great sires of dressage horses, as well
as a sire of many international jumping horses.
Among these are Calando (ridden by Björn Nagel) and
Cabinett I (ridden by Dirk Schröder).
Lucky Boy’s Granddam, Fosortin is a descendant of
the influential thoroughbred stallion Marlon xx, and
out of the well known Raimond daughter, Biserta,
from the Holsteiner Stamm 776. From this dam line
have been bred more than 65 approved stallions,
including the highly applauded Ramiro Z (Raimond),
Cortino I-II (Cor de la Bryere), Mandarin (Marder),
High Valley Z (Ahorn), My Lord (Masetto), Lord
Incipit (Lord) and Acorado (Accord II). |
