Latimer's sire Saint Cloud was vice champion at the
Munchen – Riem stallion performance test in 1991
with an overall rideability score of 153 points. As
a three and four year old Saint Cloud was often
successful in conformation show classes. He then
went onto to have a successful dressage career
attaining high placements and wins up to Grand Prix
under Karin Rehbein before being sold to Switzerland
in 1999.
Saint Cloud’s progeny have been very successful at
foal shows and riding horse championships for many
years.
The dam's sire Caprimond is one of the most
frequented Trakehner stallions of today (see
Caprimond in frozen semen list). The grand dam
Larissa was vice-champion at the central
registration of four year old mares in Bavaria in
1990. She furthermore presented the winning family
at the state Trakehner show in Munich-Riem in 1994,
which included Larina and Latimer’s dam Lara.
Lara was also awarded the I-a prize at the state
show.
Her son Liebestraum was approved and is covering in
Rheinland today. Liebestraum's maternal background
includes the family of Lust 143 which also produced
the stallions Lions Club, Lucado, Lucito and Luzifer.
The latter is from Liebestraum’s granddam Luta. From
a contemporary point of view Sokrates, who was too
hastily sold to Brazil, is probably the most diverse
sire of the Trakehner breed of his generation as
regards to hereditary transmission. The jumping
ability of his descendants is a prominent
characteristic
