FESTIVO
Festivo is an extremely rare coloured Westphalian
Stallion .
His bloodlines are outstanding as are his
temperament and paces. He has enormous, cadenced
movement and a huge overstep.
The first foal crop was born in 2006 and are
exhibiting amazing quality.
The Sire Fidermark was by far the
great Florestan’s most successful licensed son.
After being awarded Reserve Champion of his
licensing in 1994, he was named undisputed Champion
of his Performance Test in 1995, with an overall
score of 141.74 points. Fidermark’s dressage career
began in 1996, when he won both the "Optimum" award
and the 4 year old Bundeschampionat at Verden,
ridden by the Warendorf State Stud rider, Michael
Farwick..
Fidermark is credited with reviving
lost interest in the Westphalian breed. Fidermark
was competed to Prix St. George level with great
success. Then the ride was handed to Marlies van
Baalen, who was training at Johann Hinnemann's
stables. In 2000, the two competed successfully in
the Nuremberg Cup, and he then moved up to Grand
Prix level. At 11yo, in 2003, Fidermark died, at a
time when he was onlu beginning to make his mark as
a dressage horse and sire.
Fidermark’s sire, the famous
Westphalian stallion FlorestanI, has sired more than
70 Licensed sons, and a great number of State
Premium mares. Florestan I was Champion of the 1988
Rhineland Approvals, and Champion of his Performance
Test at Warendorf in 1989. As well as Fidermark,
some of Florestan's other well known progeny
includefurst Heinrich, who was Champion of his
Licensing, Champion of his Performance Test, and
2003 5yo World Young Horse Champion, French Kiss,
who was Licensing Champion, Performance Test
Champion, 2002 4yo Bundeschampion, and 2004 6yo
World Young Horse Champion, and the world record
breaking Florencio, who was 2004 5yo Pavo Cup
Champion, 2004 5yo World Young Horse Champion and
2005 6yo World Young Horse Champion.
Fidermark's dam, Watoga, was sired by
the Hanoverian stallion Werther. In 1992 Werther was
named the first Hannoverian Stallion of the Year. He
was sire of more than 50 international dressage
competitors, including the mare Weltdame, and the
highly successful Intermediare I stallion Fiorissimo,
ridden by Ingrid Klimke, and was damsire to many
champions, including Fidermark, and the 5yo Champion
of the 2001 Bundeschampionat, Wanesco. Werther also
sired more than 35 Grand Prix showjumping
competitors, including Werra (ridden by Nick
Skelton), Wahre Liebe (ridden by Hugo Simon) and
Silwa Wapiti (ridden by Helena Weinberg). He was
sire of nearly 900 dressage and showjumping
competitors whose combined earnings were well over
2,000,000 DM. He sired 39 licensed stallions and 548
inspected mares, including more than 50 State
Premium mares. Werther has a dressage breeding
ranking of 127, and a jumping breeding ranking of
106.
Samber is still the only 100 day
performance tested coloured stallion in the KWPN
studbook. He passed the performance test in 1979
where his temperament scored him the maximum of 10.
He was described as a talented jumper and highly
talented event and dressage horse. He went on to
jump at Z level with a 15 year old rider and when he
returned to dressage competed at Grand Prix. He is
still alive and covering mares today.
