GRAN
CORRADO
This unique Oldenburg stallion conquered the Bronze
Medal with the Dutch team during the European
Championships jumping 2005 in San Patrignano and is
blessed with an exceptional blood line. His sire
Grannus, who died in 1993, has left many great
horses such as; Grannusch (John Withaker), Top Gun
La Silla and Grande Dam (Jan Tops) and Grand Slam
(Nick Skelton). Damsire Corrado I himself jumped at
the highest level with Franke Sloothaak and it looks
as if he passes his own qualities on in the
offspring.
The dam line of Gran Corrado goes back, after
Landgraf I through Format and Flamberg, to the mare
Edusa from lineage 3558 which has produced, among
other horses, the stallions Flemmingh, Gaspari I and
II, Candillo and Lavanino. Not only his pedigree
makes Gran Corrado an exceptional stallion; also his
sport career contributes to this; winner of the
Bavaria Cup during Jumping Indoor Maastricht 2003, a
4th place in the Grand Prix of Wiesbaden, a 4th
place in the Grand Prix of Maastricht 2004 and a 3rd
place in Dortmund 2004. In 2005 his career was
sealed with a bronze team medal during the European
championships in Italy and the victory in the
Nations Cup of Falsterbo.
Also the offspring of Gran Corrado succeed to
perform well in jumping. In 2003 3 of his children
were selected for the Final of the Championship Free
Jumping in Asten. In 2004 a son of Gran Corrado X
Nimmerdor won the Irish Championship Free Jumping
for 3 year old horses. Apart from that a lot of his
offspring has already performed in the national and
international jumping sports.
That the offspring of Gran Corrado is very beloved
in the international jumping sport and several of
his children have been sold abroad through sport
horse auctions. During the PSI auction 2004 his son
Grandor (Oldenburg Landeschampion 2004) was sold to
Ireland for € 60.000,-. In 2005 his son Gran Crue
was sold to America via the Dutch Sport Horse Sales
and also during the Expo Talent Sales 2005 a son of
Gran Corrado was put up for auction.
