KWPN Stallion Show Winner 2007
EUROCOMMERCE
ZÜRICH
Eurocommerce Zürich, champion of the showjumping
stallions of the KPWN stallion selection in ’s
Hertogenbosch, is one with the X-factor. The jury of
the stallion selection committee assessed him as
follows: “A complete horse. A great horse. He has a
fantastic well-balanced canter, with a very regular
stride. He is a steady, natural jumper, with fast
reflexes, good technique, power and insight.”
In the pedigree of Zürich the successful
international showjumping sire Eurocommerce Berlin
is combined with a rock-hard Dutch sport family,
NL-mares line 048. Berlin’s dam Estia (Caretino) was
herself also successful at the highest level of the
showjumping sport, acting under the name of Cathleen
W and ridden by Marc Wirths. The mare also inherited
her sport talents from her grandam Ostia (Freeman
xx) who earned world-fame by the name of Frimella.
The family of Berlin, Holsteiner lineage 890,
belongs to the most successful sport families in
Holsteiner breeding.
The dam of Zürich, Tsarina is no less than the full
sister of the KWPN stallion Larino on which Peter
Geerink caused sensation in the international
showjumping sport. Both descend from showjumping
horse producer Concorde and the ‘prestatie’-awarded
mare Erina (Armstrong), a full sister of the
international showjumping horse Romulus ridden by
Peter Geerink. Great-grandam Warina descends from
Ridder and the sport mare Rosalinda (Le Mexico) with
which Janny Horsey has been successful in the
showjumping ring. Warina also produced, in
combination with Naturel, the KWPN stallion
Couperus, who did well in national showjumping
competitions. That stallions from this family pass
on their valuable genes is demonstrated by the
offspring of Couperus and Larino. The famous sport-
and breeding stallion Mr. Blue is a product from
Couperus’ only crop in the Netherlands. The
successful international showjumping horse Redefin,
ridden by Ian Millar, is a product of Larino.
