 CHALAN

When he was just seven years old in 2005, Chalan won his first advanced level jumping tests with Gerd Sosath. His son, Hendrik, then rode him in the German Championships for junior riders and took 6th place in the Youngster Tour at the show in Elmloh. His daughter, Janne, qualified with Chalan for the HGW Cup. The first international prizes were taken at the CSI in Hagen and after the jump-off at the German Championships in Verden, he took 4th place in the finals of the Youngster Tour in the advanced level test for show jumpers.

In 2001, Chalan was the undisputed winner of his 30 Day Test in Prussendorf, achieving the highest index both in dressage and in jumping.

In 2003 he became the Holstein State Champion with a dream score of 9.5 and in 2003 and 2004 he was highly placed in the Bundeschampionat finals in Warendorf. In2004 and 2005 he successfully participated in the World Championships for show jumpers in Lanaken.

Chalan's first foal crops were very convincing with conspicuously true to type, large sized and strong moving foals, most of which had dark coats. His first son called Chandor has been licensed.

Chalan is one of the first sons of the outstanding young sire Chambertin, who won the qualification for the finals at the Bundeschampionat for show jumpers both as a 5 and a 6 year old.

The dam, Fucera, also produced a premium stallion called Chateau. Her sire, Carolus I, was a successful international competition horse himself and is one of the leading Holstein performance sires today. A further Holstein trademark sire is found in the next generation, Calypso I, who produced top quality horses for dressage as well as show jumping. This is also the line of the approval winners Rocadero and Laurenz, as well as the sires Levantos I and II (both Reserve Champions), and Catoki, who is currently extremely successful.
