At his 30-day test, Catan impressed the ground jury by his uniform performance in all disciplines and he also received a high score from the outside rider for his rideability which is quite logical in view of his ancestors.

With the genes of Conteur and Acord II in his pedigree, Catan has Holstein stallions in the first two generations that have each earned an excellent reputation as a top sire – and not just because of their qualities as jumpers but because of their rideability and good gaits, qualities that both stallions proved when they were young at their stallion performance tests.

Both ranked among the best competitors and both were highly visible at their appearance in the Bundeschampionat.

Conteur has been trained up to advanced (S) level in dressage and comes from the same family as his popular full brothers, Contendro I und II.

Catan, a modern, beautifully built and long-legged stallion, has reliable performance sires on the dam's side as well with the highly refined Macho AA and Lombard who goes back to the Thoroughbred stallion, Der Löwe.
